Redi-Rock Retaining Wall, Newry

MAC Construction were proud to deliver one of Europe's largest Redi-Rock International gravity retaining walls for a repeat client in Newry.

Scope of Works:

• Reduced dig and installation of concrete mud mat.

• Shutter foundation 2.4m x 0.9m deep.

• Installation of 570 square meters of Redi-Rock retaining blocks to a height of 5.1m.

• Installation of drainage pipe, geotextile and 900 tons of stone ballast/drainage material.

• Backfill wall throughout progression of construction, compacting every 300mm.

This challenging project allowed us to demonstrate the capabilities of our workforce and our ability to adapt quickly to change. Safety as always was a top priority throughout construction with the work zone being located within a busy industrial area. Our team put their best foot forward to deliver an exceptional standard of workmanship, which was highly regarded by Redi-Rock International during a site visit in April 2023.
